New Competency Documents

In early October, CLPNM registrants received notice about two new documents intended to help LPNs, employers and other stakeholders understand the role of a Manitoba LPN: Entry-Level Competencies for the Licensed Practical Nurse in Manitoba, and Determining Appropriate LPN Practice.

The CLPNM has now finalized and released a third document, intended as a companion to the other two. Nursing Competencies for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba  provides information about the competencies that fall within the scope of the practical nursing profession. It includes competencies demonstrated at entry-level, as well as others that fall within the full scope of the profession, which may be developed throughout the career of an LPN depending on his or her education, training, and experience.

Access the documents, and further information on how they are to be used, here.
