COVID-19: Provincial Requirements for PPE
Posted: April 6, 2020
On April 5, 2020, Shared Health Manitoba advised that it now requires the use of universal personal protective equipment (PPE) for all health care workers during the provision of direct patient care including in home-based and community services.
Shared Health states: “These guidelines supersede all previous direction and are to be applied consistently across the province by all organizations and all providers, by the week of April 13, 2020, with the exception of those specific settings, specific activities and specific providers where additional PPE is necessary as outlined.”
LPNs who are self-employed, who are providing essential services, are advised to obtain the required PPE.
