Nursing in a Team Environment Resource Document

The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM), in collaboration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM), developed the Nursing in a Team Environment resource document in response to questions about nurses’ roles and scopes of practice in today’s increasingly complex health-care system.

The document, which was first published in 2020 has now been revised. The document recognizes that understanding how LPNs, RNs, and RPNs contribute to care requires an understanding of scope of practice, as well as individual nurse competence, practice context, and the resources available for collaboration.

This resource document provides a shared framework to help nurses, employers, and health system partners make decisions about team composition and the delivery of safe care.
