New Practice Direction: Fitness to Practice

The CLPNM Board of Directors has approved a new practice direction on fitness to practice. All CLPNM registrants are expected to review, and ensure they understand, the professional expectations set out in the document.

Fitness to practice refers to having the physical, mental and psychological capacity to consistently meet the demands of the nurse’s position and to care for clients safely, competently and ethically. The practice direction describes each practical nurse’s responsibility to ensure that they are fit to practice before doing so.

The practice direction can be accessed here.
