Addictions Medicine: Evidence-Based Care
The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, in collaboration with Shared Health, is pleased to offer a free virtual training session on advancements in substance use disorder treatment.
The training session is 1.5 hours and will be offered on multiple dates between February – March 2021.This session is for health care providers and allied health professionals in all settings, acute care, primary care, hospital, and community settings.
This training provides information on evidence-based interventions for treatment of substance use disorders and a review of medications for alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder including Suboxone, Naltrexone, Acamprosate and Naloxone. This session also explores the continuum of care including harm reduction strategies.

Facilitator: Dr. Erin Knight (MD, CCFP (AM), ISAM
Medical Director of Addictions Services at the Health Sciences Centre and co-Medical Lead for RAAM in Manitoba. She also practices family medicine at the Aboriginal Health and Wellness Centre in Winnipeg and addiction medicine in Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
