Annual Professional Learning Modules

Annual Professional Learning modules are one component of the CLPNM’s  Continuing Competence Program (CCP) for Manitoba’s LPNs.

These learning modules, which are mandatory for registration renewal, will provide information on topics related to the legislation, practice and standards of the practical nursing profession.

2024 Annual Professional Learning Module

Meeting Your Professional Standards Through Documentation

Next Step: Documentation Quiz

After you complete the 2024 learning module, you must complete a brief quiz. The purpose of the quiz is to confirm your learning and that you have completed the module. The quiz has been set up in the CLPNM’s online registration system.

Be sure to watch the module in full before beginning the quiz.

Your results will be automatically recorded in your online registration profile.

How to Access the Quiz

To access the quiz:

  • First login to your online registration profile in the CLPNM’s registration system.
  • Look for the section on your dashboard called “My Exams”
  • Launch the quiz by clicking on the small plus (+) icon next to the quiz titled “APL – Documentation.”

Once you have finished the quiz, your results will be automatically recorded in your online registration profile.

Please ensure you have a stable internet connection before launching the quiz.
If you have any difficulty saving your responses, it may be due to an unstable connection. Please see below for troubleshooting tips.

Please Note the Following

  • Your application for 2025 registration renewal will not process unless you have completed the quiz.
  • A successful result on the quiz is 80%, or 12 out of 15 questions.
  • You will have three attempts.
  • Each time you start the quiz, you will have a maximum of 90 minutes to complete it. You will likely need far less time. We have allotted 90 minutes so you are able to rewatch portions of the APL module if you need to.
  • Do not start the quiz unless you know you have enough time to complete it in one sitting. An incomplete quiz, after 90 minutes, will be registered as an unsuccessful attempt.
  • If for some reason you are unable to obtain a successful result in three attempts, please contact us to discuss your next steps.

Troubleshooting Tips

How do I know if my answers are saving?

If the answer is saving there will be a brief darkened screen with a cogwheel and message stating “Saving Answer.”

I received an error message when submitting an answer. What should I do?

The quiz should autosave after each answer. However, if you see a red box with the word “Error” written in it, it likely means that the answer was not saved properly, even if it was filled in. If this happens, it is most likely due to an issue with the internet connection. Solution: click a different answer, then click back to your original answer and make sure the error message is not reappearing.

I have completed the quiz, but it does not appear to be saving or submitting my results. What should I do?

The exam will not save if it doesn’t recognize that all answers have been submitted.  If your internet connection was unstable when you entered some of your responses, it is possible the responses are not being recognized by the system. Solution: temporarily click a different answer, wait to see if it saves, then click on the correct answer again. This should prompt the system to re-evaluate and save your response.

I previously completed the quiz, but my CLPNM online registration profile shows my quiz results as “pending.”

If your quiz status us stuck at “pending” it suggests your responses did not get saved and submitted properly. Solution: click back into the pending exam, which will prompt it to mark your results. If your responses did not save properly due to a disruption in your internet connectivity, there is a chance you may need to fill out the quiz again. If you have exhausted the default number of quiz attempts due to a technical issue, please contact us so we can assist you.
