Jurisprudence

The CLPNM’s Jurisprudence Education Module will provide you with knowledge of the legislation and professional standards that guide the profession of practical nursing in Manitoba.

The CLPNM’s Jurisprudence Education Module has been updated to include information on the new Standards of Practice and Conduct, which came into effect on December 1, 2021.

Reviewing this module is optional for most LPNs, and is one of the ways you can learn more about your new professional standards. The module is a requirement for all those entering the profession, and any registrants who are specifically directed to complete the education by the CLPNM.

Applicants and registrants who have been directed by the CLPNM to complete the Jurisprudence Education Module will also be required to complete a test. A link to the test will be emailed to those who require it.

An applicant or registrant who has been directed by the CLPNM to attend an individualized jurisprudence education session may be required to attend a session with a CLPNM consultant in person, or virtually, at a scheduled time. If this applies to you, you will be advised by the CLPNM.

The CLPNM recommends having the

available for quick reference as you go through the module.
